Britney Spears in her post on Instagram, she takes a position on the form her upcoming film will take.

“The play I might be doing is not a biopic… it’s a fictional musical where I play an extremely intelligent character!!!”the pop superstar wrote, adding: “It’s flattering to be in such good company as Jon Chu’s!!!”.

As reported by Billboard, Universal Pictures has reportedly won the film rights to “The Woman in Me” after a bidding war.

The book, released last October by Gallery Books, reached the top of the New York Times bestseller list. It describes, among other things, the rise of the star’s career, her relationship with Justin Timberlake, as well as the guardianship status she was forced to live with for 13 years.

“Wicked” director John M. Chee and producer Mark E. Platt are leading development on the project, according to Variety. Spears revealed in early August via X (formerly Twitter) that she is working on a “secret project” with Platt.
