Zendaya Maree Stoermer Coleman, known worldwide only by her first name, was born in 1996 in Oakland, California. With parents who were educators (her mother is German and her father African), Zendaya is proud of her ancestry.

“I have my African name, I have a middle name that is my mom’s middle name, which is French, then I have Stoermer, and then Coleman, I literally have a timeline of history in my name”she had said in an interview.
