The American director, screenwriter, producer and illustrator, Tim Burtonwho grew up in Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley, used to take the bus as a child to visit his favorite store on the famous Walk of Fame.

A few days ago he got his own star at number 2,788 on the world-famous boardwalk. One of Hollywood’s most inventive directors who introduced landmark characters to the big screen, such as “Psalidocheris” and “Skatarozoumis”, was honored in an emotional ceremony in front of his favorite store.

By his side are his partner Monica Bellucci, Danny DeVito, Deep Roy, costume designer Colleen Atwood, while the stars of the film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice”Winona Ryder and Michael Keaton spoke at the star unveiling in the Motion Pictures category, according to ABC News.

“Working with Tim is like being invited to travel into his soul and imagination”Ryder said in her speech as Keaton recalled their collaboration on the 1989 “Batman” film, noting that “every time I’m on a set with Tim is a unique experience.”

“As a kid I used to come here from Burbank on the bus”the famous director began his speech. “I was quite young when I first came here and I thought those things (the stars) were actually tombstones. I realized that John Wayne wasn’t buried under it or under other people. I used to visit Larry Edmunds Bookstore”he continued.

“And when I found out (the star) is here, I almost started crying because I’ve been coming here since I was a little kid and the store hasn’t changed at all. So for me it’s a great honor to have a star that’s right here in front of this incredible store, museum, toy store, everything.”he added.
