YouTuber Nicholas Perry, better known as Nikocado Avocado, shocked his fans this Saturday (7) by showing off a completely different figure than they were used to. The young man posted images of his radical transformation after losing 113 kg “by surprise”.
Perry’s last YouTube post was in May of this year. At the time, he said he was giving up on his “weight loss journey.” This Saturday’s video, in which he shares the news, has more than 16 million views in less than 24 hours, on his main account on the platform alone.
When detailing his weight loss, the YouTuber revealed that he had not actually recorded new material for two years and had been secretly posting old content while losing weight. He claims to have done this as a form of “social experiment” to prove that people consume without reflecting anything on the internet.
“Just yesterday people were calling me fat and sick,” he said. “Today I lost 250 pounds and proved them wrong.”
Perry joined YouTube in 2014 as a lifestyle influencer—he called himself a vegan—and also posted videos of himself playing the violin. In 2016, he began posting videos of “mukbangs,” a practice that originated in South Korea and involves filming oneself eating large amounts of food, and said he gained 220 pounds.
On YouTube, Nikocado Avocado’s channel has over 4 million followers (plus nearly 1 million on a secondary account). He also has 3.4 million followers on TikTok.
