Since the beginning of the year when her Roxy passed away, this wonderful creature who for 12 years was everywhere and always with her Danae Barka she didn’t think of bringing another dog into her home and into her life. Her pain over the loss of Roxy was too great for her to even think about it. Besides, in her life there was already Bukia, the French bulldog who is also where the presenter is.

“Roxy is “gone”.

12 years of happiness. I never thought I would write this or experience this. Maybe I was going blind, maybe I saw how strong she was and kidded myself that she would be with us forever, maybe she was doing her best to show me that she can withstand whatever comes her way and she will live to be 100 years old, maybe I was observing the love she was giving and receiving and hoping that this love is the medicine for eternity…maybe..maybe…maybe.

Those who knew Roxy, fully understand what this means. Roxy was the kiss I received when I cried during the difficult times, the losses, the changes. Roxy was the hug I received when I felt like I couldn’t handle anything, when I was drowning in sadness, despair and anger. Roxy was the dog that all the kids were in awe of and would immediately get over their fear and get on her muzzle and play.

Roxy came to the theaters, the show, the walks and ran to trip everyone to steal a pet. Roxy was the family that every child, every person, every couple, every single one would dream of. Roxy would leave our coffee table and go to the adjacent tables to be petted. Roxy “expressed” milk without being pregnant for Meze when he first came home and then again for 4 newborn kittens we found in the garbage and raised for 1 month in our home. Roxy was the miracle dog. He was a rare human with the look of a child, who chose to live in a dog’s body because humans are so much worse.

Roxy is gone and with her gone a big part of us that will never be replaced. My Roxy, you made us better people.” she had written at the time in grief over the loss of her dog.

But time passed and now a new member came to join the family. A sheepdog from the mountains.

In the last 2 months this beautiful creature that was born in the mountains of Pindos came to the house to beautify it.
Bukia went crazy with her joy and now the new season finds us 3 girls (again) at home for hugs, walks and games. Good luck with the new adventures” wrote Danai Barka introducing Chopana to the public.
