Once a paquita, always a paquita. It was the launch night of the documentary about her former assistants and Xuxa Meneghel made a point of attending the event this Tuesday (10), in Rio. Happy to meet several partners, she said she was surprised by the result of the production.
“Yes. I was surprised. It was a big surprise to discover impactful stories that I never imagined,” he told F5.
Jealousy, resentment and fights between the paquitas were exposed, as well as the difficult relationship most of them had with director Marlene Mattos. “She was a sergeant,” says former paquita Ana Paula Guimarães, who co-directs the documentary alongside Ivo Filho.
Priscila Couto, who is now a lawyer, spoke openly about the pressure she received from her former director. “I couldn’t gain weight. I was under a lot of pressure,” she said. “For a long time, this held me back. I took it with me. I resolved it years later in therapy.”
Ana Paula Almeida endorses her fellow paquita regarding the villainy of the former director: “She made life hell for many of us.”
According to screenwriter Paulo Mario Martins, Marlene Mattos was approached, but did not want to record an interview.
The documentary “Para Sempre Paquitas” premieres on Globoplay next Monday (16).
