Another great loss for the music industry was announced today
The great composer breathed his last at the age of 80, Alexis Papadimitriou. The unpleasant news became known through a post made on his official Facebook page.
The last “goodbye” will take place on Saturday, September 21 at the First Cemetery of Athens, while the family’s wish is, instead of wreaths, to make a donation to the SOS children’s villages.
“Yesterday afternoon our beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away. OR funeralwill take place on Saturday, September 21 at 11.00 at the A Cemetery of Athens. The family’s warm request that instead of wreaths a donation be made to the SOS children’s villages” the post about Alexis Papadimitriou states.
Alexis Papadimitriou was born in 1944. He had written dozens of songs, which became great hits.
Marinella, Yiannis Poulopoulos, Doukissa, Yiannis Parios, Philippos Nikolaou, Jenny Vanou, Manto, Angela Dimitriou are some of the artists who have performed his pieces. Among his very big hits are “I dare”, “In my empty package”, “You are everywhere and nowhere” and many, many others.
