Actor Will Smith, 55, who will be performing next Thursday (19) on the Sunset stage at Rock in Rio, was treated to a special dinner prepared by a Brazilian chef on Tuesday night (17).

The person responsible for preparing the delicacies was Carmem Virgínia, from Altar Cozinha Ancestral, famous for its Afro-Brazilian cuisine. At the request of the artist’s team, a dinner was served that celebrated the culture of the orixás, deities of African-based religions, and composed of symbolic ingredients that pay homage to Iemanjá, Xangô and Oxum.

The menu had starters, main courses and desserts. The menu included a pastel de feira (a traditional Brazilian pastry with chili pepper) as a starter, as well as a feijoada soup with pork rinds, sururu stew, acarajé, vatapá and a salad with cashew nuts, chestnuts and sprouts.

The main dish included rice soup with seafood and green beans with farofa, okra vinaigrette and milk pirão.

Dessert options included coconut candy, fried tapioca and coconut balls, and the traditional bolo de rolo. According to the chef, Smith loved drinking an umbu cajá caipirinha, something that only exists in the Northeast, and enjoyed the bolo de rolo, pastel, and arroz caldoso.

The event also featured famous Brazilians, such as Xamã, Juliana Alves and Maju Coutinho, who shared photos with the Hollywood star.
