Lady Gaga revealed that she never dealt with the rumors circulating that she is a man. The famous artist mentioned why she consistently avoided questions about this claim during the early years of her career.
“The reason I didn’t answer the question was because I didn’t feel victimized by that lie,” she said. Gaga to Bill Gates in his new series, »What’s Next? And he continued: “But I thought, what about a kid accused of something like that, who would think a public figure like me would feel ashamed.”

On the billionaire’s new show, which deals with “the world’s most pressing issues”, Gaga explained that the rumor started in the 2010s after a “teased” picture of her went “viral” online. “There was this image on the internet that was faked and they were like, ‘You know, there’s this rumor that you’re a man. What do you have to say about that?”the Grammy winner recalled.

“I’ve been in situations where ‘fixing’ a reputation wasn’t in the best interest…I thought of other people’s well-being”the pop star said. “So in this case, I tried to cause disruption in another way. To use disinformation to create another fact.”
Gaga previously dodged the question during a 2011 interview with Anderson Cooper. “Why the hell would I waste my time and give out a Press Release about whether or not I have a penis?”the singer, who was 24 at the time, had declared. “My fans don’t care, and neither do I.”
