Issuance of the Invitation for inclusion in the NSRFand in particular in the “Environment and Climate Change 2021-27” Program, of the completion of the projects for the energy upgrade of Public Hospital buildings, announce the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, and the Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasis.
In the context of the issued invitation, which concerns 67 Public Hospitals of the country, budget operations of 247.396 million euros can be included.
The action belongs to the category “Energy upgrades of public buildings» -large public buildings, central administration buildings, town halls, hospitals, etc. – and, among other things, includes:
- Energy upgrading and energy saving interventions, such as, for example, adding insulation, replacing frames and glazing with new certified, high energy efficiency ones, replacing the burner – boiler – piping system with a system that allows the use of Renewable Energy Sources, replacing an old air conditioning system, passive solar systems.
- Demonstration actions for the installation of electricity-heat cogeneration units, and actions for the utilization of Renewable Energy Sources.
- Interventions to replace medical technological equipment in the case of hospitals in combination with energy saving actions.
The Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadisunderlined: “The NHS, despite its problems, is progressing, changing, evolving. Huge resources from the NSRF and the Recovery Fund are being directed to important interventions that are already taking place in 93 hospitals and 157 health centers throughout the country. As much as some people talk about the alleged collapse of the NHS, we prove with projects that the NHS and its upgrading is our main priority. We will continue to fight constantly to provide the best possible health services to every Greek woman and every Greek man, in every corner of our homeland».
The Deputy Minister of National Economy and Finance, Nikos Papathanasisemphasized: “The pre-election and programmatic commitment of the governments of Kyriakos Mitsotakis to strengthen Public Health is being implemented. And the contribution of the European resources that we have secured is of crucial importance for the achievement of this goal. Alongside the broader interventions that are in full progress to modernize the National Health System, we are accelerating the building upgrade of dozens of hospitals and health centers, with the aim of improving the services provided. We relentlessly continue the implementation of our reform plan for a NHS that all our fellow citizens deserve».
