Luciana Vendramini, who was one of Xuxa’s stage assistants, spoke out on social media after her name was mentioned in the documentary “Pra Sempre Paquitas” (Globoplay).
In the series, the former paquitas accuse Vendramini of sexualizing the group, since she posed for Playboy in 1987 wearing a paquita uniform. The actress had actually participated in a selection process for the position, but ended up not being chosen.
“It’s not quite like that,” Vendramini defended herself, via Instagram. “I wasn’t rejected, I was fired. This episode [ser paquita] is not excluded from my life. It is more present than ever, as for example, at this moment”, he wrote.
The actress also recalled the young age and experience of Xuxa’s assistants. “We were all very young, without the experience of maturity. I continue to root for each one of them. Rivalry is not part of my life,” said the actress.
She also explained why she chose not to participate in the documentary: “I thanked the documentary’s directors and producers for inviting me to record. I have all the respect for each of them, especially Xuxa,” she continued.
“At the time I was on the program, in 1986, being a paquita was not yet a desire of Brazilian teenagers, but it became so years later. I didn’t know what it meant to be a paquita at that time,” she added.
