American actor Zachary Levi, protagonist of “Shazam!”, declared his support for Donald Trump in the United States presidential election. During a rally in Michigan this Saturday (28), he explained that his first voting option was Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who dropped out of the race, and said he believes that Trump is the one who can “make the country great again.”
“We’re here to make sure we get this country back. We’re going to make it great again. We’re going to make it healthy again,” Levi said on stage. He moderated a debate between Kennedy Jr. and Tulsi Gabbard, a former US congresswoman.
“I’m with Bobby [Robert F. Kennedy Jr.]and I’m with Tulsi, and I’m with everyone else who’s with President Trump. Because I truly believe, of the two options we have, and we only have two, that Donald Trump, President Trump, is the man who can get us there,” he added.
In his speech, the actor explained his decision based on his story. “I grew up in a family that was conservative Christian, that was pretty much our line,” he said. “My parents were Kennedy Democrats who later became Reagan Republicans, and they taught me to have a healthy level of distrust of government and a healthy level of distrust of industry running rampant.”
Levi explained that his ideal candidate was Kennedy, but in the absence of that option, the next best choice, in his opinion, was Trump.
“For a long time, I thought, ‘Man, I really want to find a politician who represents all the things that I want and that I want to see in a presidential candidate.’ And this year, I met Bobby Kennedy, and I thought, ‘Man, this guy is the real deal.’ And in a perfect world, whatever that would be like, maybe I would vote for Bobby,” he said.
“But we don’t live in a perfect world. In fact, we live in a very broken world, we live in a country that has been hijacked by many people who want to take this place into the abyss. And we want to stop that, right?”
Discovered by the comedy series “Chuck”, Zachary Levi has extensive experience in the superhero field. Six years before donning the red and yellow jumpsuit of Billy Batson’s alter-ego, he played a small role in “Thor: The Dark World” (2013) and later reprized it in “Thor: Ragnarok” (2017). . In the Marvel saga, he played a warrior from the mythological land Asgard. He was chosen to be the protagonist of “Shazam!” by DC.
