The model and daughter of Alec Baldwin, Ireland Baldwin, 26, revealed last Saturday (5) that she suffered an anxiety attack induced by a cup of coffee.
“This morning I had a cup of coffee on an empty stomach which turned into an anxiety attack! I’m currently writing this from the bathroom floor,” she wrote in the caption of her photo of herself, in which she appears in a bathroom, posted on her blog. profile on Instagram.
“I usually sit here like this or I lie in the fetal position until I can’t cry or throw up anymore. Coffee is a big esophageal irritant and a reflux trigger for me, which leads to anxiety.”
“Writing this and being upfront with you guys about my struggles helps it get through,” she said, asking her followers to share their experiences with caffeine in the post’s comments. In response, Ireland’s father Alec, 63, commented an “I love you”.
Ireland revealed to her Instagram followers in January this year that she suffers from “cardiophobia,” an anxiety disorder that causes her to live in constant fear of dying from a heart attack.
“The heart palpitations and chest pain brought on by the typical anxiety attack convince me that I’m 26 and have an underlying heart problem that I don’t have,” he said at the time. So she ordered a blood pressure monitor to read her heart rate because “nothing brings her more comfort than an EKG”.
“My anxiety got so bad in the past that I called ambulances and visited hospitals where paramedics and doctors assured me my heart was fine,” he wrote. “I know it may sound silly to you, but this little machine has brought me the greatest comfort.”
