Anahi Martinho
Gusttavo Lima and Deolane Bezerra were targeted, in recent weeks, by operation Integration. The two are investigated for alleged involvement in a money laundering scheme through sports betting websites. The countryman and the influencer thus joined the less than honorable list of celebrities who faced problems with the Brazilian justice system.
The reasons vary. Former BBB Nego Di, for example, has been in prison for around three months in Rio Grande do Sul. He is accused of qualified embezzlement and electronic fraud, accused of harming more than 370 customers in an online store scam. Years earlier, in 2017, Fábio Assunção was arrested red-handed in a city in the interior of Pernambuco for contempt of authority, qualified damage to public property and resisting arrest. Ronaldinho Gaúcho spent five months in detention in Paraguay in 2020.
Reason: he used a fake passport to enter the country. Child support debt and accusations of violence against women also led celebrities to the police pages.
DRUGS
Days ago, Marcelo D2 took the Rock in Rio stage for the first time with his band, Planet Hemp, to sing lyrics in favor of the decriminalization of marijuana. At the show, the band threw giant inflatable joints into the audience, who sang the choruses about cannabis at the top of their lungs. Less than twenty years ago, however, the scenario was very different. In 1997, D2 and the entire band were arrested for five days in BrasÃlia for advocating drugs.
Even in recent years, the list of celebrities arrested for possessing the herb is extensive and includes global figures Caco Ciocler, Thiago Lacerda and Marcello Antony. Belo was convicted of trafficking and served 3 years and 8 months in prison.
FOOD DEBT
In Brazil, failing to provide food for a minor child may be covered by article 244 of the penal code, if it is proven that the parent is capable of doing so. Celebrities such as Romário, Dado Dolabella, André Gonçalves, Roy Rosselló (ex-Menudo), Marcos Oliver and Carlinhos Mendigo have already been arrested for this reason.
VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN
Players Robinho and Daniel Alves were convicted in cases of sexual violence. Robinho remains in prison in Brazil and Daniel Alves was released after serving 15 months in prison in Spain.
Countryman Victor Chaves, from the duo with Léo, spent 18 days in open prison, accused of attacking his then-wife, Poliana Chaves. Funk artist Naldo Benny spent three months in prison for attacking his wife, Ellen Cardoso, known as Strawberry Shortcake. The list also includes Biel, who sexually harassed a journalist, and DJ Ivis, who was filmed punching and kicking his wife.
