“Even at this age, I had the courage to take a chance and take on the challenge” Choi Soon Hua told The Associated Press.

“I want to show that we can live healthy even in old age and find joy in life when we discover things we want to do, challenging ourselves to achieve the dream.”

Starting this year, the Miss Universe Organization decided to abolish the upper age limit for participation, which was 28 years. Now, any woman over 18, regardless of age, can enter the pageant, paving the way for greater participation and highlighting beauty and confidence at all ages.
