OR Emma Corinnewho played the Cassandra Nova in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’, she will join forces with Cate Blanchett in Anton Chekhov’s classic work “The Seagull”.

The much-anticipated new adaptation by Duncan Macmillan and the show’s director Thomas Ostermeier will premiere in 2025 at Barbican Theatre of London.

The co-star of the Oscar-winning star will be Tom Burke. Indeed, the two actors have recently finished filming his new movie Steven Soderberghand “Black Bag”.

On stage will also be Cody Smith – McPhee, who was by her side Angelina Jolie in the Netflix movie “Maria”.

The show’s director told BBC News that actresses like Blanchett “come around once in a generation”, adding: “I’m thrilled to be doing our first artistic collaboration with this production of The Seagull at the Barbican and for London to experience this actor in one of the greatest theatrical roles, that of Arkadina. I’m also delighted to be forming a new artistic relationship with Tom Burke, who will play Trigorin.”

The ambitious production also takes part in Priyanga Burford, Zachary Hart, Paul Higgins, Tanya Reynolds and Jason Watkins.

According to the official synopsis of the play, “Arkadina, is a famous actress and dynamic woman, whose presence dominates both the stage and her personal relationships. But when he arrives at the family’s country house to spend the weekend, he is called upon to face a series of conflicts.”

The last time Blanchett performed in the theater was in the National Theater production “When We Have Sufficiently Tortured Each Other” in 2019.

The performances will take place from February 26th until April 5th. The official premiere is set for March 6.
