The distribution of the 19,181 regular staff recruitments in the State for 2025 by ministry and agency approved by the last cabinet, is presented by the Athens-Macedonian News Agency.

The distribution of the new positions was the result of a difficult equation that was called upon to be “solved” by the responsible Deputy Minister of the Interior Vivi Charalambogiannias for the final result he had to compare the requests of the ministries, the government priorities, the observance of the budgetary restrictions and especially the 1:1 ratio, i.e. one recruitment for every one departure.

From the analysis of the data it appears that emphasis is placed on strengthening it YOUof Armed Forces, of Security Forcesher Local Government and her Social Welfare. The maximum number of temporary staff allowed was also approved (Private Right of Fixed Term/project lease)which is 22,344 and has remained stable for the last three years.

It is noted that the recruitment planning for the following year is a continuation of the 91,819 recruitments that have been approved for the years 2020 to 2024, with the result that the approved recruitments for the five-year period 2000-2025 have risen to 111,000.

The distribution of regular staff positions by ministry and agency is as follows:

Ministry of National Economy and Finance: 116 positions in the central service and in supervised bodies.

State Department: 121 positions were approved, of which 101 in consular authorities and 20 in the Diplomatic Academy.

Ministry of National Defense: Approved all requests from military schools to admit 1,684 students (with a transfer of 450 due to a minimum admission base) and an additional 2,000 professional soldiers.

Also, 50 places in the military hospital NIMTS (Army Stock Fund Nursing Foundation).

Ministry of Interior: Total 107 Central Service Recruitments.

Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs and Sports: 883 recruitment of faculty members, of which 753 in HEIs, 47 in the university hospitals of Aeginiteio (24) and Aretaiio (23) and 78 in other services.

Also 326 recruitments of clerics and church employees. Teachers for the 2025-2026 school year will be approved in May 2025.

Ministry of Health: A total of 4,016 positions, to support the National Health System, of which over 2,000 are for nursing staff.

Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport: A total of 494 positions, of which 370 in the transport agencies OSY (Road Transport) and STASY (Fixed Transport), 34 in the CAA (Political Services), 41 positions in the ministry’s central service, etc.

Ministry of Environment and Energy: 114 posts in central service.

Ministry of Development: 139 positions were approved, of which 73 in the central service.

Ministry of Labor and Social Security: A total of 361 positions, of which 220 in e-EFKA and the rest in the central service and other supervised bodies.

Ministry of Citizen Protection: 1,750 positions were approved. The 1050 in the productive schools (Probationary Constables and Deputy Constables) and 600 Special Guards. In addition to these, 100 security and external security positions for the local detention centers and the Elaiona Rehab Center.

Ministry of Justice: A total of 372 positions, of which 100 at the National School of Judicial Officers and the remaining 272 positions for secretaries and other staff.

Ministry of Culture: 126 positions were approved in the central service and in Culture Tax Offices.

Ministry of Immigration and Asylum: 80 seats in the central service.

Ministry of Social Cohesion and Family: A total of 372 positions to strengthen the structures of the newly established Ministry, of which 330 positions are in social welfare centers.

Ministry of Rural Development and Food: A total of 186 positions in the central service (105), ELGA (45), OPEKEPE (24) and other supervised bodies.

Ministry of Shipping and Island Policy: 240 positions were approved, of which 124 in Cadet Schools, 58 in the central service and the rest in supervised bodies.

Ministry of Tourism: 34 positions in the central service and 3 in the EOT.

Ministry of Digital Governance: A total of 200 positions with most of them (129) in the National Land Registry and the rest in the central agency (50) and other supervised bodies.

Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection: He gave the green light for a total of 831 positions, of which the lion’s share is given to the fire department. More specifically, 330 in the production schools, 450 positions of forest fire fighters & special duties) and 51 positions of other specialized personnel in the corps and the ministry (helicopter operators, engineers, coke navigators).

The regular staff recruitment puzzle for 2025 is completed with 60 positions in Presidency of the Government.
