Actress Maitê Proença, 66, managed to sell her apartment in the Chopin building, next to the Copacabana Palace, announced more than a year ago. The property had been put up for sale in August 2023. Despite not confirming the exact value, the actress will receive between R$4 million and R$4.3 million in cash.
The building is next door to the famous hotel, where Madonna stayed for her show in Rio. The property has high ceilings, side views of the beach and is perched above the glamorous swimming pool of the century-old hotel.
Among the facilities are a lounge, dining room, pantry, spacious kitchen, two bedrooms, a suite and a parking space. The condominium fee costs R$2,831 per month, and the IPTU costs R$1,300.
Socialite Narcisa Tamborindeguy and singer-songwriter Gilberto Gil also live at Chopin.
The legendary building opened in 1956 with 12 floors and 60 apartments divided into three blocks. On the ground floor, the condominium has a bank branch and shops. Apartments facing the sea (not the case with Maitê) can be valued at up to R$6.5 million.
SALE HAS RUN AWAY
In May, the actress was unable to sell the property located in the traditional Chopin building, in Rio. She decided to lower the value of the property from R$4.9 million to R$4.3 million, a discount of R$600 thousand.
Through social media, Maitê highlighted in the ad that the highlight of his apartment, “what’s wonderful and different about it compared to others in the same building”, would be the light. “It is absolutely bright, it is all lit, from the rooms to the service area.”
The property, measuring 300 square meters, is located on Avenida Atlântica, one of the noblest in the capital of Rio, with Copacabana beach in front.
