With a glass of sparkling wine in hand, Joice Hasselmann lamented his defeat in this year’s municipal elections. The journalist had run for the position of councilor in São Paulo for Podemos. The video she published on social media amused internet users due to the description she made of herself.
“Before politics, I made a lot of money as the most important journalist in this country,” she said.
Joice, who was once the most voted federal deputy in São Paulo, regretted having dedicated so much effort to politics, giving up her career on TV. She was a presenter on CBN, Record, SBT and Jovem Pan.
The journalist stated that, following this defeat, she will retire from politics. “For the last time, I gave up my career, my projects. And, after the result, I say to you: I retire my boots because the population is not prepared to vote for what is good, beautiful, pleasing to the eye from you”, he added.
The journalist also said that she will support Ricardo Nunes (MDB) in the second round of the elections for mayor of São Paulo, despite not liking him: “It’s not because I think Ricardo Nunes is great, I think he’s a soft ass.”
“I prefer a soft-ass than a leftist”, she concluded, also referring to Guilherme Boulos (PSOL), who is competing for the position with the current mayor of São Paulo.
