Diddy’s mother’s reaction to the accusations against the rapper

Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother says she is “devastated and deeply saddened” by the allegations against her son, but they are “lies.”

The musician, known for hits like 1997’s “I’ll Be Missing You,” was arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering charges last month. He is currently being held in a Manhattan detention center after being denied bail.

In a statement, Janice Small Combs defended her son, saying that although he has “made mistakes in the past, like all of us,” he is “not the monster they are making him out to be.”

“It is heartbreaking to see my son judged not by the truth, but by a narrative created from lies,” she wrote.

The statement was attributed to Small Combs and the Combs family, and was issued by their attorney, Natlie G. Figgers.

It comes five days after it was revealed that Combs could face more than 100 new charges from men and women for alleged sexual assault, rape and sexual exploitation.

The star’s lawyer denied these and all previous allegations, calling them “false and defamatory.”

He has faced a series of lawsuits since last year, when his ex-partner Cassie Ventura accused him of rape.

Combs denied the allegations, and the lawsuit was settled out of court and dismissed.

However, he was later sued by 12 other women, many of whom accused the rapper of drugging and assaulting them.

Federal agents searched Combs’ properties in March. Then, in May, a video of Combs physically assaulting Ventura in a hotel room in 2016 was released by the press.

In his statement, Small Combs referenced the video, saying he was “not here to portray my son as perfect because he is not.”

“My son may not have been completely truthful about certain things, such as denying that he had ever been violent with an ex-girlfriend when the hotel footage showed otherwise,” she said.

“Sometimes truth and lies become so closely intertwined that it becomes scary to admit part of the story, especially when that truth is out of the ordinary or too complicated to be believed.”

“This is why I believe my son’s legal team chose to settle his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit rather than contest it to the end, resulting in a rebound effect as the federal government used this decision against my son, interpreting -it as an admission of guilt.”

Combs had previously apologized for the incident that was caught on camera. “I take full responsibility for my actions in that video. I was disgusted when I did it. I’m disgusted now.”

Concluding her statement, Janice Small Combs argued that “one lie does not make him guilty” of all the other “serious charges leveled against him.”

“It is truly distressing to see the world turn against my son so quickly and easily for lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or giving him the opportunity to defend himself,” she said, adding that she believed some of his accusers were motivated by money.

Combs is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, when his lawyers will ask that he be released on bail.

He was previously denied bail after prosecutors argued he posed “a significant risk” to his upcoming trial.

They told a New York judge that Combs “had previously attempted to obstruct the investigation into this case by repeatedly contacting victims and witnesses.”
