Presenter Dudu Camargo, 26, had another defeat in court in a lawsuit filed by singer Simony, 48, after having her breast groped by him without consent during Carnival 2020.
According to information from the São Paulo Court of Justice, Dudu was denied an appeal to reduce compensation for moral damages by 90%. Therefore, the sentence to pay R$30,000 to her was maintained. When contacted, Dudu’s defense did not comment. Simony celebrated the decision on social media.
REMEMBER THE CASE
In May last year, the São Paulo Court had already ordered presenter Dudu Camargo to compensate the singer in R$30,000.
In 2020, Simony worked as a reporter for RedeTV! on the program Bastidores do Carnaval and was interviewing Dudu, then presenter of SBT, when he passed his hand over the artist’s body, who pushed him away: “Don’t press too hard, I’m not used to it”, he said.
In an interview with F5 After the incident, the artist said she was considering suing him for not being permissive.
“I have never experienced any situation of embarrassment or someone touching me without my consent. This is not a joke, it is very serious,” he said. Initially, the artist wanted compensation of R$100,000, but the amount was adjusted by the courts.
