Jack Black has praised Ozzy Osbourne, who has been honored for his decades-long solo career
Ozzy Osbourne was inducted into her Hall for the second time Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. The 75-year-old Black Sabbath star thanked his wife, talent manager and reality show star Sharon Osbourne, for “saving” him as he accepted the honor at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
He was previously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the heavy metal band and is one of a handful of musicians including Sir Paul McCartney to be awarded the rare honor both as a solo artist and as a member of a group. “I would like to thank whoever voted me into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for my solo work. Thank you from the bottom of my heart”he said to the crowd when actor Jack Black presented him with the award.
“My fans have been so loyal over the years, I can’t thank them enough” emphasized Osborne and thanked his musicians and all the people who supported him in his many years of career and his family.
“I’ve been very fortunate over the years to play with some of the best guitarists, bassists and drummers in the world. Some of them are here today. I do have to say one thing about a guy named Randy Rhodes though. If I hadn’t met Randy Rhodes I wouldn’t be here right now. And more than that, my wife Sharon. He saved my life. As well as my grandchildren and children. I love them all” he added.
Jack Black praised him Ozzy Osbournewho was honored for his multi-year solo career. Black compared Osborne to another legendary troublemaker, saying he has: “so much charisma, he’s the Jack Nicholson of rock.”
Noting that Ozzy Osbourne is the most important bandleader in rock ‘n’ roll history, Jack Black recalled the first time he heard one of the singer’s records, ‘Blizzard of Ozz’ at the age of 13, saying: “When the needle, vinyl heaven opened up on me, i don’t know. Then the second song, ‘Crazy Train’. There was an explosion of colors in my brain. ‘Suicide Solution’, ‘Mr Crowley’, ‘Revelation’ and ‘Goodbye to Romance’. “Blizzard of Ozz” was the best thing I had ever heard. A masterpiece of heavy metal” he emphasized.

Black went on to say that “ozy is a loving father, husband and friend, loyal to his family and friends to the ends of the earth and back.”
Addressing the young music lovers he said that while they could “to stream Post Malone and Taylor Swift and get all the warm hugs their broken hearts need”they could instead “stay up all night and be rocked by Ozzy’s entire catalog.”
