Bruna Vieira prepares a sequel to ‘Back to 15’ and wants to create a new influencer niche

The third and final season of “Back to 15” successfully concluded the character Anita’s time travel. The series was among the three most watched on Netflix globally in its debut week and took the names of actors Maísa, João Guilherme and Larissa Manoela and writer Bruna Vieira to the entire world. This is what the author of the book that inspired the production told the F5.

“I was quite surprised. This last season, people from various countries started writing to me asking for the book in other languages”, she says. In addition to the translation, there are requests for an alternative ending to the story, which has not yet ended in the literary version.

Bruna began writing the trilogy “After fifteen”, “Back to fifteen” and “Back to dreams” at the age of 18. The sequence tells the story of Anita, a 30-year-old woman who travels through time. Back at age 15 again, she has the opportunity to review her attitudes and fix all her mistakes.

The author, now 30 years old, promises that many things will change, and Anita will have a mature ending, reflecting her own maturity and that of her readers. She also says she is sure that those who read her stories ten years ago will buy her new book and go on the launch tours.

“People continue to read me in different formats. Maybe captions on Instagram, or listening to me on the podcast, or receiving emails. Those readers continue to follow me.”

She says time travel and returning to adolescence is something that appeals to them. “The focus of the story is nostalgia, it’s talking to our teenage self, understanding what needs attention and more care.”

However, she intends to mix this nostalgic feeling with topics that are currently most discussed, especially among new generations, such as mental health and diversity. “It works both for us, for the readers who grew up with me, who are now 30 years old, Anita’s age, but also for new people who project now, being 15 years old, what it will be like to be 30.”

After releasing other books, growing a lot on social media, stopping writing on the blog, starting a podcast, going through a breakup, a loss in the family, the pandemic, a new relationship and seeing her dog leave, she talks about the differences between writing in your 20s and 30s.

“In our early 20s, we project a lot, imagine the things we will have already achieved [aos 30]whether we will already have children or not, whether we will already be in a specific position in the company. In my personal life, things happened in a different order,” she says.

His idea, therefore, is to show that the most important thing is to “live in the now, in the present”.

The author and content creator’s present is full of plans for a new phase. A pioneer in blogs and social networks, Bruna sees content production today, full of short videos, as a great standardization. “You start to notice that the videos are very similar. You can no longer differentiate why you like someone’s content”, he says.

After seeing herself as part of this great “trend”, the influencer understood that she had no feeling of accomplishment. It didn’t have its essence, which was always, instead of video, writing. Now, she seeks to differentiate herself and focus her content on what she really likes.

“I want to focus, as a content creator, on writing. I want to bring writing to my content in a way that I don’t do so often today,” she said. At the moment, she shares a little of her writing routine, but not as much as she would like. Production takes place in the mornings, when it is offline.

“Who knows, somehow I’ll create a new format and this format will open doors for other authors who also want to do something similar”, she imagines. “I think when you have a story being told, you can take it across different mediums. I want to find new ways to do that.”

The new phase also includes Estúdio Bruvie, a space for content creation that is being built, with her and other influencers in mind. “It’s a space that I designed and that I thought about every detail with the architects. The focus is on capturing content with my cell phone. It’s great to have a space separate from my home to be able to create”, he says.

Changes of address are also approaching. The first: a year living as a nomad, traveling the world. Then, a move from São Paulo, the place where he made his career, to the interior, where he will start a family, alongside his current boyfriend. “So I’m very excited to live this phase of life. I think it’s going to be a delight. And I can already see myself writing books for children”, she enthuses.
