The day a chicken entered my polling station: Rafa Brites talks about an unusual situation

Presenter, speaker and wife of Felipe Andreoli, Rafa Brites never expected to make headlines on a Sunday during municipal elections in Brazil.

When she arrived at her polling station, at a public school in Alto da Lapa, in the west of the capital, the 38-year-old from São Paulo came across a chicken. In conversation with the F5she reported what happened.

What I laughed about this story today is not written. I’m laughing more at people’s comments than at the chicken itself.

I vote for a school in Alto da Lapa, now I don’t remember the name. But Leo [Franco, fotógrafo]he has already photographed me about six times, because there are a lot of people I know who vote in that same school.

I think they raise some animals at school. When Léo came in with me to photograph me voting, we came across the chicken. Even the poll workers were laughing. The worst is my friends sending me messages and asking me why I bent down to talk to the chicken.

I asked her: ‘Are you lost?’. Poor thing, I think I was scared. I wanted to get her, I raise chickens on my farm in Campinas [SP]. But then they called an employee to look for the little animal. I think she was from there at school, they must have a chicken coop.

The comments are making me die laughing, a friend of mine said it was “Animal Revolution”. These things only happen to me. The celebrity headlines go like this: Bruna Marquezine shows off curves, Marina Ruy Barbosa signs a million-dollar contract. And with me it’s always these messes. The glamor is far from me.
