The fun Lady Night, Tata Werneck’s program, had a moment of emotion and tears in the episode shown this Monday (4).
When talking to Débora Falabella, the presenter revealed that she had been a victim of sexual violence and cried.
“I thought like this: I need to survive,” he said. “There isn’t a woman who hasn’t been through this or who doesn’t have a friend who has.”
The two were talking about “Prima Facie”, a monologue in which the actress plays a lawyer who questions the Judiciary after becoming a victim of rape.
“The way women are judged in cases of sexual assault is very cruel,” said Débora.
Tata watched the play alongside her parents and they remembered the situation she experienced when reporting sexual violence to the police.
“The questions asked were always diminishing, discrediting, as if I wasn’t telling the truth,” he said. “Sorry, I lost control,” said the presenter while crying.
At the time, Tata was asked why she didn’t scream or call the police when she was abused.
“I was scared, I was desperate,” she said. To this day, the presenter does not feel comfortable talking about the subject.
“This play has to be watched, Débora is brilliant, the play is fundamental. It has to be watched by women, by parents, by men, by people in public power”, he said.
The two friends, who starred in the soap opera “Terra e Paixão”, were also emotional when talking about their own weaknesses.
Tata mentioned remorse for working hard and missing important moments for his daughter, Clara, 5 years old. Débora stated that having friends is important for her mental health.
The two also danced a choreography of “Chiquititas”, commented backstage at Globo and exchanged compliments.
