Castrinho, 84, used social media this Friday (8) to report financial difficulties. The comedian asked his fans for help: “I’m not ashamed to make a request because I’ve always been an honest person. I was fired two years ago because I was considered old. I haven’t been able to get money for two years,” said the actor who worked with Chico for years Anysio (1931-2012), , playing the character Cascatinha.
He reported that he had to get rid of some material goods to survive recently. The situation worsened after heart surgery carried out in August this year. “We sold what we had to sell. Other things I haven’t managed to do yet”, acknowledged the actor, who shared the number of a Pix for donations: “You know that, where we take from and don’t replace, it ends. Well, the my money is gone.”
Castrinho hopes to raise funds that will help him for a period of three months. He’s pinning his hopes on the success of a new show he wrote and is already rehearsing. “I wrote a new text after an old one. It’s a show, and I’m sure it will fill the theaters. I’m asking for help sincerely and without a hint of shame, because I need it urgently.”
The actor highlighted that age has made it difficult for him to be hired by TV stations, for example. “I’m looking for a job. No television station is accepting me, but I’m going to do my show and my podcast. I ask you to help me because the situation has reached its limit,” said the actor
He further denied that his wife, Andrea Castrinho, have used family resources for the candidacy for Rio de Janeiro councilor in the last elections for the Liberal Party. “It was the party’s money. Our money was already gone”, highlighted Castrinho.
