The singer-actress joined the cast of the show’s second season Wednesdayalongside star Jenna Ortega, as first reported by Entertainment Weekly on Nov. 13. According to Variety, the Lady Gaga she is currently filming her role in Ireland, where the Netflix series has been filming for the past few months.
Although details about her role remain unknown, Variety reported that she will make an appearance in a future episode. Sources said production tried to convince Gaga to take on a “bigger role” in Season 2, but her plans and schedule didn’t line up.

The Wednesday series follows the Addams family’s teenage daughter, Wednesday (Ortega), as a student at Nevermore Academy and her discovery of psychic abilities. The cast also includes Christina Ricci, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Gwendoline Christie and Fred Armisen. Other actors joining the second season include Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper and Thandiwe Newton.
“Bloody Mary” Trending on TikTok
The first season, which aired in 2022, was a huge success for Netflix, breaking the viewership record set by the series Stranger Things. However, after the release of a TikTok video of Wednesday creepily dancing to Gaga’s “Bloody Mary,” the series and the song went viral.
Gaga also joined the TikTok trend, posting her own video titled “BLOODY WEDNESDAY,” which was recognized by the show’s X (formerly Twitter) account. “I see you doing my dance moves to @LadyGaga’s Bloody Mary,” the account wrote. “I understand it’s followed by little monsters. I approve.”

Ortega had floated the idea of ​​Gaga joining the second season as early as January 2023. “I’m sure Netflix would love that,” she told Variety. “I think Ms. Thornhill and Wednesday had a weird mentoring relationship or understood each other in a certain way, so if Lady Gaga was involved, I think it would have to be two monsters who understand each other.”
Wednesday marks the latest addition to Gaga’s expanding “acting” repertoire, following her highly successful performance as Harley Quinn in Joker: Folie á Deux in October. Gaga was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actress for her starring role in A Star Is Born, winning the Academy Award for Best Original Song.
