The iconic Glastonbury announced its first artist for 2025. Legendary rocker Rod Stewart will perform at the ‘Legends Slot’ on the evening of Sunday 29th June from the famous Pyramid Stage giving his fans one of the most anticipated moments of the Festival.

With his upcoming appearance, the superstar is making history as he becomes the first Glastonbury artist to headline in 2002 alongside Coldplay and Stereophonics and is expected to take over the ‘Legend Slot’, taking over from top acts who have hosted, such as James Brown and Tom Jones.

In a post on social media, the star expressed his excitement.

“I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I will be playing Glastonbury 2025. After all these years, I am proud and ready to take the stage again to please and entertain my friends at Glastonbury in June. I’ll see you there!”he wrote in the post.

Sir Rod Stewart is on the gold list of the best selling artists of all time. He has released 32 studio albums since 1969 including the recent ‘Swing Fever’ where he collaborated with British composer Jools Holland.

Tickets for the upcoming event went on sale earlier this month and sold out in just 35 minutes. The fact that the Festival will not take place in 2026 makes the demand for next summer’s event even greater, according to Variety.

Glastonbury is set to take place at Worthy Farm, Somerset in south-west England, from Wednesday 25 June to Sunday 29 June 2025.
