In a recent interview with the BBC on the occasion of her new film “Rumours”the award-winning actress, Cate Blanchettexpressed her deep concern about the consequences of the development of artificial intelligence (AI).

“I see these robots and driverless cars and I have no idea what this will bring us. Our film is like a cute little documentary about what’s going on in the world.”he told Laura Kunsberg.

When asked by the journalist if she is worried about her job, she emphasized that “I’m worried about the consequences it will have on the average person. I worry about us as a human species. The problem is much bigger.”

And she adds Australian actress: “Artificial intelligence can replace anyone. It doesn’t matter if you’re an actor or not, if you’ve recorded your voice for three, four seconds, it can be copied.”

The actress, who won two Oscars for her performances in the films “The Aviator” and “Blue Jasmine”, described the progress in artificial intelligence “experiment about experiment: On the one hand, it’s creative, but it’s also incredibly destructive.”

Her new film ‘Rumours’ is an exposé comedy that follows seven leaders of the world’s richest democracies at the annual G7 summit, tasked with formulating a group statement on the global crisis.”
