Igor Angelkorte, 36, used social media to vent after a performance of the play “Sidarta”, playing at Teatro Ipanema, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro, this weekend. The actor regretted having only counted 12 people in the audience in a space with 170 seats and did not hide his frustration.

“When we’re making a bomb, a bad play, we know that word of mouth doesn’t happen. But, when we’re making work with a lot of love, delicacy and we feel the exchange with the public, it’s another I don’t understand,” wrote the actor, who played the hairdresser Cacá in “Terra e Paixão” (2023), on Globo.

Camila Pitanga’s ex-boyfriend, Igor also complained about the lack of publicity for Rio’s spaces. “We no longer know how to look for the locations of the plays here in Rio. I myself, as a local, don’t always know what’s going on and I end up depending on social media for a friend to tell me ‘oh, there’s a play in that place'” .

He also stated that, as it is a monologue inspired by the book of the same name by Hermann Hesse, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, publicity is even more difficult.

“It’s a challenge to publish everything alone”, commented Igor. He lamented the lack of repercussion even among his colleagues in the artistic world. “I met friends and I’ve heard: ‘Wow, I lostSiddhartha’. I would have loved to have seen it.’ I respond that I’m on display. Many people were surprised by this information.”

Finally, the actor asked his followers for help: “Help us spread the word, out of love. If you’ve seen ‘Sidarta’ and like the work, make a video talking about the play, post it on social media, call and tell us. Talk at the bar table , take the art I’m going to post in stories and share it. Gratitude!” “Sidarta” is showing at Teatro Ipanema until December 15th.
