Thais Braz shows forehead without bandages for the first time after surgery: ‘Relief’

Pediatric dentist Thais Braz, 29, who was at BBB 21 (Globo), appeared for the first time without bandages after undergoing surgery to reduce her forehead. On Instagram, the former BBB made videos to show the result without the tape and also commented on the postoperative process.

“Good morning! I took off the tape [fita, em português], I just took it off. And the hair, spent five days with the thing here, is a little wrinkled. I’m going to shower now, wash my hair. Wow, people, what a relief”, began the ex-BBB. “So, how’s it going?”, he asked.

Braz spoke about the surgery on March 10th. In a video shared in stories, she appeared with a bandage and a headband and explained the procedure. “I took an inch off my forehead. Yes, brave she,” she began.

“But everything worked out, thank God, I chose the professional a lot and it was also something that bothered me a lot, a lot since I was a child. But it’s okay, it hasn’t even been 24 hours since I had the surgery”, she continued, stating that the surgery had gone smoothly.

I’m going to spend a week using the band and then I take it off and use it just to sleep. The only thing I feel is my head throbbing, but it’s much calmer than I thought”, said the ex-BBB. F5plastic surgeon Victor Cutait, a member of the SBCP (Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery), explained that the technique is old and used in the reconstruction of the face in cases of burns and in people scalped in boat accidents that happen in the Amazon.

​”It is very common in the north of Brazil that there is a lot of female scalping of women who have part of the scalp ripped off by the boat’s engine. It is a technique that comes for reconstruction”, he explains. The surgery, lasting an average of one hour, can reduce up to five centimeters of the forehead.

According to Cutait, the technique consists of making an incision close to the hair root along the forehead area to the temples, allowing the scalp to detach.
