Pete Davidson said he’s “very happy” to be away from Hollywood for a while. The actor and comedian left “Saturday Night Live” in 2022 after eight seasons and now works as a creative director for a clothing brand.

In an interview with W magazine, Mr Pete Davidson explained that he made the decision in part because of negative pressure he received from his relationships with celebrities such as singer Ariana Grande and reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

“Luckily, I got hit in the face with the Hollywood shovel” he said. “It’s been a long time and I needed it. I’m very happy where I’m at right now, mentally.”

The American comedian, actor and screenwriter explained that he wanted to be known for his “good work” citing work in film, stand-up shows, charity or business as possible ways through which he wants to stand out.

“Then I want to be seen. I don’t want to be someone who does nothing and just dates people. I’m not him” underlined. “The media takes a celebrity every couple of years and just destroys them. For some reason, I’m one of the people they chose to hunt.” noted.

“It’s actually, in a way, a blessing because it’s allowed me to step back and assess things. What do you want to be? who are you I’m a guy who’s from Staten Island, he wanted to do stand-up, and if I’ve been able to do anything else because of stand-up, it’s been a miracle.” he emphasized.

In July, Davidson reportedly checked into rehab for his mental health after completing a run of more than 200 live concerts in the US, as well as several film projects and the release of his second Netflix special, Turbo Fonzarelli.
