Actress and model Cara Delevingne portrays Sir Elton John in a video for his song ‘Step Into Christmas’.

In the video, Cara Delevingne wears a suit and glasses similar to those worn by the singer-songwriter in the original video released 50 years ago.

When it was released in November 1973, the song ‘Step Into Christmas’ reached No. 24 in the UK top 40 and topped the Billboard Christmas Songs chart.

Cara Delevingne, who is a close friend of Elton John, said, according to The Guardian newspaper: “Elton has always been my idol. To say that his music had a profound effect on me is an understatement. Being asked to play him in this remake was a dream I didn’t know I had until it happened. Honestly, I wish I could play Elton every day.”

“I hope that Elton John can one day return the favor and agree to play me in the movie about my life that is still undeveloped, unwritten, unannounced and unfinanced,” he said.

Elton John said: “I saw Cara at Glastonbury last summer and we talked about how much we’d love to work together if the right idea came up. She’s hilarious to spend time with, we both have a self-deprecating sense of humor.”

“When someone pitched her the idea of improvising me in the 1973 ‘Step Into Christmas’ video, I thought it was the perfect opportunity. Fortunately, Cara thought the same, because it turned out great” underlined the legendary singer-songwriter and musician.
