A week after undergoing surgery, Preta Gil has been recovering well. The singer remains hospitalized in the ICU of the Sírio-Libanês hospital, in São Paulo.
The social media team updated the singer’s health status this Thursday (26). According to the medical report, Preta is stable, is already eating orally and walking.
The artist is being accompanied by teams led by doctors Roberto Kalil Filho, Roberta Saretta, Fernanda Caparelli and Frederico Teixeira.
Under treatment for cancer, Preta entered Sírio-Libanês on Wednesday night (18) and asked for prayers before the procedure.
“Here I am, once again, facing a very major surgery, but my faith, my will to live is greater than anything. The feeling now is one of gratitude and a lot of love in my heart”, said Preta.
Two weeks ago, the artist was in New York to talk to a doctor specializing in oncology treatment.
Preta was treated for colorectal cancer last year, but the disease returned in August this year and progressed to metastasis in four locations: in two structures of the lymphatic system, known as lymph nodes; in the peritoneum, the membrane that covers organs such as the intestine, liver and stomach; and in the ureter, the tube through which urine passes.
