Amy Adams was still a newcomer to the profession when she filmed the film “Catch Me If You Can”, directed by Steven Spielberg, in 2002. In addition to the famous director, the actress had Leonardo DiCaprio as her romantic partner. The work was one of the most important for her career, but she revealed that she regrets a situation she had behind the scenes: delaying recording because of a laughing fit.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Amy reported what happened at the wedding party between Frank (DiCaprio) and his character, Brenda. “He goes out the window and then several money bills started flying in Leo’s face, like, right in the middle of his face”, she said, who to this day doesn’t know why she found the scene so funny. “I burst out laughing with Steven Spielberg on set! I couldn’t compose myself, and the production staff waited for me to control myself”, he recalled.

Amy Adams, 50, played the naive nurse in love with Frank, who was unaware of his crimes for a long time. “Just seeing him get hit by the banknotes was really funny, and it got to the point where even he [Leonardo] laugh at the situation. DiCaprio was super focused the whole time — which, for me, made it even funnier,” she said. “That’s my only regret in a job,” the actress added.

The film “Catch Me If You Can” is based on the autobiography of Frank Abagnale Jr., an accomplished criminal and master of disguise and lies. The plot takes place during the 1950s and, in addition to DiCaprio and Adams, it features Tom Hanks, Christopher Walken, Martin Sheen and Jennifer Garner in the cast.
