Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, took… his gun. He signaled he would go to “war” to defend the H-1B visa program for highly skilled foreign technology workers, amid a tussle between longtime supporters of President Donald Trump and recent tech backers such as own.

In a post on social media platform X, Musk said: “The reason I’m in America with so many important people who built SpaceX, Tesla and hundreds of other companies and made America strong is H1B.”

“I will go to war over this matter, war of such magnitude that you cannot comprehend” warned the world’s richest man.

Musk, a naturalized US citizen born in South Africa, has an H-1B visa and his electric car company Tesla received 724 of these visas this year. H-1B visas are usually for three-year periods, although holders can extend them or apply for a green card.

The fury of MAGA (Make America Great Again) leaders in recent days over visas for high-skilled workers shows no sign of abating, as they do not want immigrants, whether unskilled or highly skilled.

Some prominent online figures in the Republican “vanguard” are now accusing Musk of using social media platform X to “retaliate” against those who disagree with his support for the H-1B visa program
