Otávio Mesquita revealed on social media that he was the victim of an armed robbery in the Morumbi neighborhood, in São Paulo, this Friday (27). He said that the crime occurred outside a pharmacy, close to his home, and that his watch was stolen by the criminal. The presenter was even threatened: “It’s a horrible feeling. I’m fine, but I’m still a little scared”, he declared.
Mesquita detailed the episode: “I left my house and stopped at the pharmacy here in Morumbi to buy some things. When I left the store, a man appeared on foot, with a gun, and said: ‘Give me the watch’. I replied: ‘Calm down, of course I’ll give it to you’. I handed him the watch, he put the gun in his pocket and walked away, got on a motorbike and left”, he reported.
He also made a point of warning his followers: “If you happen to go through this, stay quiet. Don’t argue, don’t try to react, because the guys are armed and it’s a terrible risk. Even if you’re a strong person, don’t do it. That’s it. They shoot without thinking. They shoot, get on the bike and leave. Have you been robbed? Keep calm, breathe and say: ‘Okay’.”
In the caption of the video, the presenter commented further on the robbery: “I was robbed at gunpoint for the second time. He waited for me to leave the pharmacy, announced the robbery and took my watch. They put the revolver to my head, but I remained calm. Unfortunately, the end of the year is always like this. Be careful, avoid going out on a motorcycle or with valuables, be very careful”, he concluded.
