The Golden Globe ceremony did not fail to bring references to films — not only to those nominated for the award, but also to other Hollywood classics — and to satisfy film lovers. Even an old feud was revived during the presentation of one of the categories: Vin Diesel sent a provocation to his former co-star, Dwayne Johnson, known as The Rock.
Diesel took the Golden Globes stage to present the award for Motion Picture and Box Office Achievement, won by “Wicked.” Before announcing the category, he paused and said, “Hey, Dwayne,” with a small smile.
The Rock was sitting close to the stage and the camera soon focused on the actor, who returned a smile, but without saying anything.
Diesel and The Rock filmed the series “Fast and Furious” together and have a history of fights and disagreements. In 2016, Dwayne Johnson criticized members of the film’s cast, stating that some were unprofessional on set.
In 2018, the actor admitted that there was friction with his colleague: “Vin and I had some discussions, including an important one in my trailer. And I realized that we have fundamental differences in terms of work philosophy and collaboration. It took some time, but I have I’m grateful that this has become clear, regardless of whether we work together again or not.”
In 2019, everything seemed to be resolved when The Rock made a post thanking his “brother Vin” for supporting the release of “Hobbs & Shaw.”
