Fernanda Torres, 59, received a tribute from her ex-husband, journalist Pedro Bial, 66, after winning the award for Best Actress at the 2025 Golden Globes for the film “I’m Still Here”, directed by Walter Salles.

Fernanda Montenegro’s daughter plays the protagonist Eunice Paiva in the film, a lawyer who became a symbol of resistance and the fight for human rights in Brazil after the disappearance of her husband Ruben Paiva during the military dictatorship in the early 1970s.

On social media, Bial shared a photo of Fernanda Torres from more than 40 years ago and praised her ex-partner’s family:Nanda, Fernanda, Fernando, Cláudio. The theater family shortens centuries, lengthens brief lives.”

The relationship between Fernanda Torres and Pedro Bial began in 1982, when she was 17 years old and beginning her artistic career. They lived together for three years and, despite the separation, maintain a friendly relationship. Fernanda has already participated in several interviews conducted by Pedro Bial on television programs.

Fernanda was married to playwright Gerald Thomas between 1991 and 1996, and he also congratulated the actress. “Congratulations on the victory, Nanda. I know how important this is for you, despite it always being in the name of Brazilian cinema. I know who you are! I laughed at your statement. I stopped, looked out the window… I thought about your mother and in ‘Flash and Crash’ and laughed.”

Currently, the actress has been married to filmmaker Andrucha Waddington since 1997, with whom she has two sons: Joaquim, 25, and Antonio, 16.
