The husband of influencer Shantal Verdelho, Matheus Verdelho, spoke out this Wednesday (16) about the death of nutritionist Ilana Kalil, wife of gynecologist Renato Kalil, who was found dead on Monday (14).
As the column showed, on Saturday (12) the nutritionist was dissatisfied with the fact that friends of the couple had fraternized with Shantal at the wedding of Lu Tranchesi, another digital influencer and heir to Daslu.
When he saw the photos on Instagram, he posted critical comments, and then had to delete them, as the doctor’s lawyers were advised to avoid debating the case on social media.
This Wednesday, Matheus Verdelho said he had no reason to feel fear or guilt when commenting on the case.
“I’m here representing my family. You saw that we were off these days, after what happened. I want to make it clear that we did this out of respect and never out of fear or guilt. We have no reason to feel fear or guilt” , said in a video published in Stories. “We said a lot of prayers for this situation, as we always do here at home in other situations,” he continued.
“I’ve seen several articles, several people talking about Shan’s name, talking about other people’s names that have nothing to do with it. So I couldn’t sit still and let it go blank either. So I’m just clarifying this. Let’s resume our day to day, our routine normally and with dignity as we always did”, he concluded.
Last year, Shantal denounced Kalil for obstetric violence in the birth in which she gave birth to a girl, Domenica. Since then, other women have come forward to bring charges against him, including harassment.
Kalil went on to be investigated in an inquiry. Ilana came out more than once in defense of her husband on social media. Her death, registered as a suicide, is being investigated by the police.
According to reports from people familiar with the couple, Ilana watched with special attention the ceremony that sealed the union of Lu Tranchesi with businessman Rafael Luzzi, in São Paulo.
The party was widely publicized by the guests themselves on social media.
Ilana followed the records on Instagram, and would have been dissatisfied with the images of people with whom she and her husband had also lived.
The nutritionist then made posts citing the friends who were at the party, in a critical tone.
Then he deleted the messages: Ilana was permanently advised by the doctor’s advice to avoid references to Shantal Verdelho and the investigation against her husband. The advice of his lawyers was that the matter should be dealt with exclusively in the criminal process.
According to family members, the nutritionist had psychiatric follow-up for problems prior to those caused by the complaint against her husband.
