George Kapoutzidis’ new work “The Caryatida!” It premieres directed by Katerina Mavrogeorgi at the Rex Theater -Skini “Eleni Papadakis” on February 7th. A ruthless comedy, dedicated to the magnificent and historical ability of this long -standing place to permanently entangle in comedic adventures.
In about half an hour now, the long -awaited press conference is going to be held. Tremble journalistic fingers expect to press the record on cameras. Today, after the captivity of decades in the British Museum, the ethereal Caryatida, the lost sixth sister, the shimmering symbol of an entire culture, returns unexpectedly home! As another beloved girlfriend, aunt, lost cousin from abroad, the whole country is waiting for her with a huge anticipation. Its reception, however, will not be as we imagined it, as we designed it, as we dreamed of it. No. The reception of Caryatida by her mom, Greece, is a comedy. Hilarious, relentless.
The project “Caryatida!” It is a commissioning of the National Theater to the author, in the context of the tribute to the modern Greek work.
