“Am I a ‘famous’ person?” So, why? To sell cheese? To participate in a reality show? Because I’m doing something outrageous? Because I’m an actor?” said Benedict Cumberbatch
Benedict Cumberbatch revealed that he hates being called a celebrity. The English actor recently admitted that he finds the term “derogatory” and often quite vague, as it “includes anyone famous” even when they are known or have become known in completely different ways.
The topic was discussed during an interview with Variety, when Benedict Cumberbatch addressed the public’s perception of him, especially when he starred in the series “Sherlock”.

“I’m not Brad, I’m not Leonardo, I’m not a typical movie star”, he said. “People were arguing: ‘Why is he not attractive to us at all?’ I don’t sit and think about it. I worry about myself in the mirror as I get older, just like everyone else does“, he emphasized.
He then moved on to the subject of the term celebrity. “He’s so condescending and just encapsulates anyone famous,” she explained. “Am I a ‘famous’ person?” So, why? To sell cheese? To participate in a reality show? Because I’m doing something outrageous? Because I’m an actor?’he said.
