The online transmissions of her songs have decreased Carrie Underwood and his Nelly after their appearances at Donald Trump’s inauguration.

His interpretation “America the Beautiful” by country singer Carrie Underwood at the inauguration of the US president went viral after there were technical problems during her performance that forced her to sing a capella.

Music streaming rates actually fell by 6% on the day of the US president’s inauguration. Underwood’s music was streamed 1.46 million times on the day of the inauguration, compared to 1.55 million streams a week earlier, according to Luminate, via Billboard.

Nelly, who also performed at President Trump’s inauguration and responded to backlash over his decision by calling it an “honor” to sing at the ceremony, also saw his audience decline. His songs were streamed 1.54 million times on the day of the ceremony, compared to 1.63 million streams a week earlier.

Social media users expressed their displeasure with Underwood’s attendance at the ceremony. “Carrie Underwood is singing at Trump’s inauguration so I’m boycotting all her music,” wrote a user on X.

“I love our country and I’m honored to be asked to sing at the ceremony… It’s an honor to answer the call at a time when we all need to be together,” replied the singer.
