Javier Bardem and Amy Adams are joining forces into a new, promising production. It is about ‘Cape Fear’a series of Apple TV+, reviving the story of the legendary films of 1962 and 1991, bringing to the forefront new performances and a more contemporary look.

According to Variety, Cape Fear, which received the green light from Apple in November, will consist of 10 episodes.

It will be based both on John D. McDonald’s novel, “The Executioners”, which inspired the 1962 film with Gregory Peck and Robert Mitsam, as well as the 1991 remake, directed by Martin Scorsese and with Robert and Robert Nick Nolte in the lead roles.

The official logo of the series states: “A storm comes for happy lawyers Anna (Adams) and Tom Bowden, when Max Cady (Bardem), an infamous killer from their past, gets out of prison.”

It is worth noting that Adams has received six Oscar nominations for her roles in “Vice”, “American Hustle”, “The Master”, “The Fighter”, “Doubt” and “Junebug”.

She has starred in the science fiction film “Arrival” and “Julie and Julia” played by a woman inspired by Julia Chaild’s life and cooking and launches a blog for her recipes. While she has also participated in television productions, such as the limited series of HBO “Sharp Objects” which gave her an Emmy nomination.

Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg will participate as executive producers along with the two protagonists and screenwriter and production manager Nick Antoska.
