The sculpture in the form of Maria Callas, designed by Nikos Floros, was presented today in the eternal city. The work of art was placed at the entrance of the Church of St. Theodore of Tironos, which belongs to the Orthodox Metropolis of Italy.

The well -known sculptor chose to use steel for his work, because it is a material that is not worn by the passage of time. It weighs about five hundred pounds, and after Venice and Rome, the steel “Divina” – as the Italians “baptized” our legendary ride – is going to continue its journey to Paris, Vienna, Lisbon and New York. . The unveiling of the sculpture had been made two months ago in Venice, at the Square of the Theater “La Fenice”, where this unique artist had sung in a series of works.

The artist’s desire is his work to present, then, to the Greek public. Today’s event, held under the auspices of our Embassy in Italy, was attended by Deputy Minister of Culture Jason Fotilas, Metropolitan Italy Polycarpos, our ambassador to Rome, Eleni Sourani and our country’s ambassador.
