After facing a wave of accusations of sexual harassment and being acquitted, Kevin Spacey spoke on Tuesday (18) about the recent speech of actor Guy Pearce, with whom he played in “Los Angeles, forbidden city” of 1997.

In an interview with a Hollywood Reporter podcast, Guy Pearce, 57, said Spacey, 65, “targeted” him and was afraid of his colleague. “Although I was a victim to some degree, I’m certainly not a victim just as other people, who were attacked by sex predators,” said Guy Pearce.

“For five months, I forced myself to think ‘Oh, it was nothing,'” continued Pearce. “I was afraid of Kevin, he’s an aggressive guy. He’s extremely charming, bright in what he does, impressive. But I was young and vulnerable and he had a target,” he said.

Kevin Spacey responded to his former colleague’s speech with a video posted on X. “We worked together a long time ago. If I did something that bothered you, you could have spoken with me at the time,” he said. “Instead, you decided to talk to the press and now they are after me to know the answer. Want to know my answer? Grow,” said the star.

“You also told the press that a year after the movie you flew to Savannah, Georgia, where I was recording another movie, just to spend time with me? I apologize if I didn’t capture the message that you didn’t want to spend time with me “He continued.

“And now you show up 28 years later, when I’ve been to hell and came back, why? Winning the bad guy? Is that what is happening? Why did it take so much? Anywhere, anytime, it can be right here in X. I have nothing to hide.

Guy Pearce had already talked about the episode in 2018, in an interview with a TV channel from Australia, his homeland. At the time, the actor said it was “a little difficult” to film with Kevin Spacey because he was “silly hand.”

Faced with the repercussion of the interview at the time, Guy explained herself. He said he was not assaulted or molested by his colleague, but “he felt uncomfortable.” “I dealt with the situation my way,” he said.

Kevin Spacey has two Oscars for “American Beauty” and “The Suspects”, as well as a Golden Globe and five Emmy nominations for the “House of Cards” series.

Since 2017, the actor has faced multiple accusations of harassment, all against men. In 2022, he was acquitted in a New York Court and, by 2023, was notified of nine accusations in a London court.
