Presenter Xuxa Meneghel, 58, posted on her social media, this Sunday (20), criticism of President Jair Bolsonaro (PL), saying that the way he treated women, apparently journalists, on several occasions was unacceptable, inadmissible.
“Nothing, nor anyone can say that it is out of context. Machista, prejudiced, ignorant… any human being who does this is qualified as such, but here in Brazil he is a myth”, said the presenter on her Instagram profile.
In the video that accompanies the phrase, a fictional scene appears in which a man humiliates a woman during dinner at a restaurant. The image, however, is followed by actual footage of Bolsonaro using similar terms against women.
“Give me another one”, “you’re an idiot, an ignorant”, “slut”, “cry now, cry now” are the phrases said by the president in the scenes.
Between comments for and against, Xuxa still responded to some followers saying that “it is ridiculous for people not to see this and other atrocities of this gentleman”, and agreed with a follower who said that Bolsonaro elected “says a lot about our society”.
This is not the first time that Xuxa has taken a stand against the president. Late last year, she even asked his supporters to stop following her on social media. On the occasion, Bolsonaro responded by asking Xuxa’s supporters to also leave their profile.
