In a week on display, the newest film starring Fernanda Montenegro led the Brazilian box office. Since the debut last Thursday (13), “Victory” has been seen by over 218,000 people.
“It is a real character who has been able to endure the worst of life in a stoic way. As a result of an existence not attended to its most necessary help,” she said on a video posted on Instagram in which she thanks the presence of viewers in movie theaters.
In production, the 95 -year -old veteran plays Dona Nina, who combines herself with a journalist to denounce a gang of corrupt traffickers and police in the neighborhood where she lives. As proof, she begins to film actions and meetings from the house window.
Montenegro stressed the social denunciation portrayed on the screens and said that the moment is special for Brazilian cinema. “I’m still here”, starring Fernanda Torres, won the country’s first Oscar in the best international film category.
“At this point in life, I am able to make this character. I am very grateful to chance, or God, or the gods. The audiences have been crowded with so much audiences, Brazilians. As much as I speak, I do not realize my emotion. Thank you.
