by

Singer and actress Manu Gavassi, 28, was elected the best Brazilian artist at the MTV EMA 2021 award, which takes place this Sunday (14) in Hungary. She surpassed Anitta, Ludmilla, Luísa Sonza and Pabllo Vittar, the latter last year’s award winner.

“We won the EMA, yes, gavassiers!”, celebrated the artist on her Twitter. “Winning the Best Brazillian Act EMA at this point in my career really feels like a dream. A dream and a hug from each of you. It makes me believe that it’s really worth it to be completely yourself in everything.”

MTV released a video of Manu celebrating on its social networks. “I’m here in Hungary, in Budapest, and I just won the EMA. It seems, I don’t know… I’m really happy. I just released “Gracinha”, which means my liberation. It means you can be who you want to be and be accepted for it”.

Manu Gavassi also attended the event as a presenter, giving the Best Alternative Artist award to YUNGBLUD. Another Brazilian who made a quick appearance at the awards was Anitta, 28, who appeared on a screen and spoke to Cardi B, who was presenting the event. “This is my baby Anitta,” said the rapper.

The awards take place from 5 pm this Sunday, broadcast on MTV. Among the awards given up to the publication of this text were Best Artist of the Year, for Ed Sheeran, and Best Latin Artist, for Maluma.
