Michelle Obama Descense Divorce Rumors: ‘They do not imagine that I can choose for myself’

Former United States first lady, Michelle Obama, spoke openly about recent rumors involving a possible crisis in her marriage to Barack Obama. At age 61, Michelle stated that her current moment of personal autonomy has been confused by the public as a sign of marital distancing.

“It’s the first time in life that all my choices are made by me,” she said during her participation in Iheart Radio’s “Work in Progress” podcast.

Michelle explained that for years he lived due to the needs of the family and the position of first lady, which prevented her from making individual decisions. “I said, ‘I need to take care of the girls,’ or ‘I need to make sure the president is well.’ They were always justifications that prevented me from doing something just for me,” he said.

According to her, this new moment of freedom, when there is no more excuses to postpone decisions, also brought a shock to the public’s gaze. “In the end, I can’t blame anyone but myself for choices or indecisions. If I’m honest, I could have done it years ago, but I didn’t give me that freedom,” he reflected.

Michelle also addressed how this process of reunion with herself ended up feeding distorted interpretations of her marriage. “This is precisely the challenge that many of us women face – the constant fear of disappointing the expectations of others. This year, for example, I just just prioritize what I really like to arise wrong assumptions. They do not imagine that I can choose for me. So many came to believe that my husband and I were divorced.”

Despite the rumors, Michelle did not mention any real crisis in the relationship with Barack Obama, with whom she has been married for over 30 years. On the contrary, they said they were going through a moment of personal maturity.
